ENG 110: Verb Tenses


PRESENT CONTINUOUS: He is flying a kite now.
PRESENT SIMPLE: He flies a kite every afternoon.
PAST SIMPLE: He flew a kite yesterday.
PLANNED FUTURE: He is going to fly a kite this afternoon.
UNPLANNED FUTURE: He will fly a kite next week.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS: He isn't flying a kite now.
PRESENT SIMPLE: He doesn't fly a kite every afternoon.
PAST SIMPLE: He didn't fly a kite yesterday.
PLANNED FUTURE: He isn't going to fly a kite this afternoon.
UNPLANNED FUTURE: He won't fly a kite next week.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS: Is he flying a kite now?
PRESENT SIMPLE: Does hfly a kite every afternoon?
PAST SIMPLE: Did he fly a kite yesterday?
PLANNED FUTURE: Is he going to fly a kite this afternoon?
